Launching our new coffee
We’re proud to have Yallah Coffee as both our restaurant supplier and stockist in the farm shop. Their incredibly inspiring ethos revolves around sustainability, especially their impact on the environment (plus their coffee is just sooo tasty).
They’ve already made their mark by becoming the first coffee roasters in the world to use 100% plastic free bags that can be recycled with ordinary household paper. Even their larger bags are biodegradable!
When we met up with Yallah Coffee and heard about their new range, we couldn’t turn down the chance to stock it- and here’s why…
‘Spotlight Series’ is a range that is kicking off with Columbian beans from the area of Rioblanco. Each coffee in the series will focus on something Yallah believes to be significant in the ‘Pillars of Sustainability’ (social, economic and environmental) and is positively impacting their journey from growth to drink.
These beans were shipped by wind power on a sailboat from Columbia to Falmouth, reducing transit emissions by thousands of kgCO2 and meaning an almost carbon neutral footprint. To put that into perspective, if shipped by plane the flight would have created 177,982.35 kgCO2.
Now we have the chance to provide you with a sweet coffee with notes of orange, cocoa and peach, from a cup quality of excellent, and a community that received a 27.5% higher gate price than the market price. We really like this coffee and its origin, and we’d love you to be part of it.
Ask for 'Las Brisas' or 'Sailboat' in the restaurant. Las Brisas is its origin location, and sailboat is how it's travelled. Look for 'Spotlight' in the farm shop, because of its extra talking points.
We think this coffee is really cool. We’re retelling the story, informing our customers, and giving you the chance to be part of something special. We want to thank the community of Sailboat Coffee drinkers that we build as well; so we’re giving out stamp cards printed on recycled paper and celebrating those who complete them with their 10th cup on us.
